Government decided to amend EFL Act

Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF Cabinet on 12th Wednesday decided to amend the Ecologically Fragile Land (EFL) Act 2003, to exclude small and marginal farmers living in the areas bordering EFL land, from the purview of the Act.
The Cabinet also decided to strictly implement the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act passed in 2007.
Another decision is to allot 9.53 acres of land on lease to the Fisheries Department for setting up an Aquapark at Paravoor in Ernakulam district.
The Cabinet also decided to sanction Rs 20 lakh for the renovation of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Kurichithanam. Former President K.R. Narayanan was an alumni of the school and also many other noted personalities.(picture courtesywww. topnews.com)
