Ernakulam,Kannur,Alapuzha: United Democratic Front, on Tuesday 10th, 2009,has retained all the three seats in the by elections to the 12th Kerala Legislative Assembly. Congress candidates A.P. Abdullakutty(Kannur), Dominic Presentation(Ernakulam) and A.A. Shukoor(Alapuzha) were declared winners with a good margins.
A.P. Abdullakutty trounced M.V. Jayarajan of CPI(M) by a margin of 12,043 votes.
Dominic Presentation defeated P.N. Sinulal of CPI(M) in Ernakulam winning 8620 votes over his opponent.
A.A. Shukoor was elected by a margin of about 4745 votes. He defeated G. Krishanaprasad of CPI.
BJP candidates came third in all the constituencies.
