Calicut Wins State School IT Fest-2010; Presentation Higher Secondary School, Chevayur having highest point

Thiruvananthapuram: 21st January 2010: Calicut District rceived the Over All Championship(57points) in the 9th edition of State School IT Fest held at Technopark, Trivandrum on 20th and 21st January. Wayanadu and Kannur districts shared the second prize(53points each). Presentation Higher Secondary School, Chevayur, Kozhikkode became the school that got highest point(14points)in the fest. KPESHS, Kayakkodi , Kozhikkode became the second school-13points.The valedictory session was inaugurated by Mervin Alexander, CEO , Technopark and K Anvar Sadath, Executive Director, IT@School distributed the prizez. L Rajan, DDE, Trivandrum, Shri V R Ajithkumar and Shri Sureshbabu were also present.
Competitions were held today for Website designing , Malayalam Typing and IT Quiz. IT@School team made presentations on ICT Enabled education on various subjects. ICT Enabled content CDs were distributed to all students. The Fest was worth noted for providing free broadband internet access to students through 10 terminals.
Out of 169 contestants under 6 categories ( digital Painting, Web designing, malayalam typing, Project Presentation, Multimedia Presentation & IT Quiz ), 62 participants got A Grade.
In the valedictory function Executive Director, IT@School K Anvar Sadath has said that the department would consider extending School IT Fest from High School level to Upper Primary and Higher Secondary level as well from coming year onwards.
