Seven scintillating evenings flavored by the great exponents of Indian performing arts. The curtain is being raised for Nisagandhi Festival 2010 on 20th January 2010 at Kanakakkunnu. Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan inaugurated the festival. Tourism minister KodiyeriBalakrishnan presided.

A splendid array of great maestros of the country will be on stage to fascinate your feelings with their mesmerizing performances.

The week-long festival will be blessed by the performances of the above mentioned (In Table) maestros. To add color to the festival the Tourism department also conducted the Handicrafts Mela, food festival, Tribal Arts Festival, Kathakali Mela and display and sales of traditional artifacts of Kerala along with this. Every day-from 21st to 25th-the Nisagandhi open auditorium will witness the performances of Kerala dance artists-M S Sreekkuttan, AparnaMarar, ParvathyRajBR, S Sreedevi and Meera Anil. Kathakali Mela will takes place at Kanakakkunnu palace from 20th to 26th, at 6.00 pm. Festival will have an end on January 26th.

The Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF) organized the tribal arts festival and crafts fair from January 19 to 26. Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan inaugurated the festival on the Kanakakkunnu Palace premises. Minister for Welfare of Scheduled and Backward Communities A.K. Baln was the chief guest at the inaugural function.

A model tribal colony has been set up on the Kanakakkunnu Palace premises as part of the tribal festival, which will showcase the culture and tradition of the ethnic tribes of Kerala
