Kerala state film awards-2009 'Palerimanikyam..' best movie; actor Mammootty, actress Swetha Menon

Thiruvananthapuram: Monday 5th April 2010: Cultural Minister M A Baby announced the Kerala state film awards 2009. 'Palerimanikayam Oru paathiraakolapaathakathinte kadha' directed by Renjith bags the best film award. 'Raamanam ' directed by M P Sukumaran Nair wins the second best movie award. Hariharan won the best director place for the movie Pazhassiraaja. Mammootty for his extraordinary performance, as the Jury said, in the movie 'palerimaanikyam..' won the best actor award. Manoj K Jayan bags the second best actor award for the movie Pazhassiraja. Swethamenon is the best actress for her believable performance in 'Palerimanikyam..' and Pathmapriya is the second best actress for the movie Pazhassiraja. 'Ividam swargamaanu' of Roshan Andrews won the best popular film. P Sukumar, director of Swantham Lekhakhan is the best debut director. Jagathi Sreekumar won the special jury award for best actor. Jury considered jagathy as a living legend. Kesu bags the best children's film. Ezhuthaatha kannukal directed by Vinod Mankara bags the best documentary award.
