Kochi: On Tuesday 18th August 18 2009, the forged document case gets a new turn as the Kerala High Court had directed more investigation on the case. In the case the Congress leader Sobhana George is suspected to have a role in the conspiracy behind the fabrication of a document connectingng Tourism Minister K V Thomas with a havala racket.
The ruling came upon a petition filed by ‘Crime ‘ magazine editor Nandakumar. He alleged that Crime branch investigation into the case is getting hindered.
Sobhana was listed as the third accused in the report filed by the crime branch before Chief Judicial Magistrate N M Jose after the arrest .Her personal assistant, Anil P Srirangam also alleged to include in the scandal..
Surya TV journalist Anil Nambiar, who had done a report in June based on the allegedly forged document sent by the DGP(intelligence) to the chief minister’s office, has been retained as the first accused. R Jayachandran, a close aide of Sobhana, is the fourth accused.
The alleged forgery linked Thomas with the Rs 336 crore inter-state havala rackets probed by central agencies.
