'Nadodikal'-Simple but an amazing film

After watching Samudrakkani’s new Tamil film Nadodikal I left the theatre with a mind filled with happiness of being watch a good film. The film is all about friendship having a good story, script, actors, twists and an intelligently concluded climax. Karunakaran, Pandy and Vijay were childhood friends. Karuna (Sasikumar) dreamt of a government job to marry his lover Nallamma (Ananya). Pandy is looking for a Visa to foreign and Vijay is trying to set up a Computer centre himself. Vijay also has an affair with Karuna’s sister. All are having a dream and works to fulfill it. But all changed when Karuna’s cousin Saravana comes to their life. Saravana is in love with a girl who is a landlord’s daughter. His mother an ex-MP, also oppose their relationship. So he seeks the help of Karuna. Karuna with the three friends decide to kidnap the girl for Saravana and move to her village. After a long struggle they kidnap the girl, make marry with Saravana and sent them to Goa. But during their effort to makes the couple together Pandy lost his hearing capacity and Vijay lost his one leg. The rowdies sent by girl’s father killed Karuna’s grand ma. Three friends arrested by the police and release after. Because of the police case Karuna’s dream of a government job and marrying Nallamma ruptured. But by realizing the problems of theirs’ the three friends decide to start a new life. Happiness comes back to their life with a little bit disturbances. But the news of Saravana and wife’s divorce makes them upset. They again moved to each of the couples’ houses but getting distressed by their response. The two consider their marriage as a dare dream and now set for a new marriage. The three friends can’t bear this. They decided something. After a struggled effort they make realize the divorced couple what the meaning of life and friendship.

As per the words of director the one line of the film is- ‘My friend’s friend is my friend also’. And the film became a big success in portraying this theme. The story of the film is a true one and filmed as what happened in the real life of Samudrakani’s friend. Director waits five years with this story for a producer who is not interfered in the story. Thus in each and every shot we felt the magic of an experiences and intelligent director. The ‘Subrahmanypuram’ directors cum actor Sasikumar, Bharani, Vijay, Ananya, Abhinaya, performance of all are superb. Comedy role by Bharani and Ganjakkarupp also adds sweetness to the film. Without hearing and speaking capacity in original life Abhinaya makes her role as Karuna’s sister unmemorable. Cinematography portrays not the beyond belief life but simple life of the common people. At the same time when the film moves the visuals gets thrilling mood. Script …… is really suitable for the story and the characters. The background score, the music, the lyrics all is in best quality. As a whole Samudrakkani crashed the ‘Superstar effect’ of the contemporary Tamil films and also proves the good films never dies.
