Mrinal Sen Will Inaugurate IFFK 2009

Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran Bengali director MrinalSen will inaugurate the 14th International Film Festival of Kerala on December 11th, 2009 at Nisagandhi auditorium, Kanakakkunnu. The inaugural function starts at 6.00PM. Actress Sarmila Tagore and France Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont are the chief guests. Cultural Minister will preside the function and Central Minister Dr.SasiTharoor will give the main speech. Function also includes the honoring of Oscar winner Ressul Pookkutti. The Life Achievement Award of this year presents to Mrinal Sen. Forest Minister Binoy Viswam will release the festival catalog.

The function followed by the cultural programmes of Bangalore based ASHANK. Turkish dierector Atil Inac's 'A Step Into the Darkness' is the inaugural film.
