Nagisa Oshima Movies and Homage Movies of IFFK 2011


Late Nagisa Oshima, the Japanese director and screen writer, is regarded as the pioneer of the new wave Japanese Cinema. Nagisa Oshima’s five films are included in the Retrospective package of IFFK 2011-
The Street of Love (1959)
Sun’s Burial (1960)
Sing a Song of Sex (1967)
Sinner in Paradise (1968)
Boy (1969).

The homage section of 16th IFFK comprises of movies which evokes the memories of four of our late great film personalities around the world. Four movies of Raoul Ruiz and one each of Mani Kaul, Tareque Masud and Elizabeth Taylor will be screened in the festival.
Raoul Ruiz films are: Genealogies of a Crime, Mysteries of Lisbon, That Day, Three Lives and Only One Death
Mani Kaul's Our Daily Bread, Tareque Masud's Runway and Elizabeth Taylor's Who's afraid of Virginia woolf? are also to be screened.
